Create the inscription form

Role requiredTournament organizer

What you’ll achieve: a custom sign-up form that every team must complete before they can pay for their inscription — asking exactly what you need, per team and per player, and even selling merchandise in the same checkout.

Prerequisites: a club, and access to Club Manager (forms are built there).

Tournament sign-up forms are a special form type — Competition Inscription Form — created in the Forms section of Club Manager. Build it first, then attach it when you create the tournament. Every question can be marked obligatory (the team can’t submit without answering) or optional.

  1. In the Forms section, click + Add Form.
  2. In the type picker, choose Competition Inscription Form“For team inscriptions in the Volley World Competition module.”
  3. Fill in the three sections below, then save.

Pick Competition Inscription Form — not the plain Inscription Form, which is for training-group inscriptions.

A Competition Inscription Form is made up of three parts: team questions, player questions, and (optionally) merchandise.

Questions under Team Info are asked once per team, not per player — things like “Which club do you represent?” or “Who is the captain of your team?”. Give the section a title (and optionally an image), then add questions of any type — short answer, radio buttons, dropdowns and more.

Team questions are answered once for the whole team.

Questions under Player Info are asked separately for each player — for example the first and last name of player 1, player 2, and so on. Three player fields are built in:

  • Email — used to identify the player’s profile and link the registration to the player’s seed.
  • First name and Last name — obligatory for every player.

Add your own per-player questions after these (shirt size, licence number, date of birth, …).

The Preview players counter in the editor only controls the preview. At sign-up, the real number of player tabs comes from the tournament’s min/max players per team — for example 2 for beach volleyball, or 6–12 for indoor. To allow substitute players, raise the tournament’s max players per team.

Player questions repeat once per player tab.

If you want to sell merchandise with the inscription — shirts, entry to a party, parking — add it as a merchandise question. Each product gets a name, description, image, price and currency, and an optional quantity selector. You can attach follow-up questions to a product, like “Which size do you want?” as radio buttons.

The product is offered to each player during sign-up, and whatever they pick is paid together with the inscription fee in the same checkout — no separate payment flow.

Merchandise is charged in the same checkout as the inscription.

When you create or edit the event, open Attach a form to your event signup process and select your form. Only forms of type Competition Inscription Form appear in the picker for a tournament.

At sign-up, teams must complete the form — all obligatory questions answered for the team and for every player — before the payment step unlocks.
