Partner Matcher

What you’ll achieve: a tournament partner of your level — matched in the app, invited to a tournament, with the entry fee split so you each pay your own half.

Prerequisites: you must be in a European country (the Partner tab only appears there), and you can’t be on a child account linked to a family — Playing Partner is for players 16 and older. Your Playing Partner visibility must be on — see privacy.

Getting started

Open the Partner tab in the bottom bar (its screen is titled Tournament Matcher). The first time, a short introduction runs:

1. Playing Partner — what the feature is. Tap Continue.
2. Discover players — browse profiles and like the ones you’d like to play with. Tap Continue.
3. Split the tournament entry fee — each player pays their half. Tap Continue.
4. Choose Participate to join (or Hide my profile to stay out of it).
5. Accept the community rules — Playing Partner is not a dating app; keep conversations and photos about volleyball. Tick the box and tap Understood.
6. Complete your Profile — add photos and a short bio (a good profile improves your chances), then Save.

Swiping

Each card shows a player’s photos, name and age, their sport and bio, plus their Wins, App level and Club level. A badge marks players who are Also looking for a partner.

1. Swipe right (or tap the smiley) to Like; swipe left (or tap the cross) to Pass. Tap the replay icon to Undo your last swipe.
2. Tap a card to open the player’s full profile.
3. Use the gender filter in the top bar to narrow the deck.

Each card carries the player's Wins, Club level and App level.

You have a daily like limit. When it runs out you’ll see Out of likes with a Likes reset in countdown, and can tap View my mutual likes. When the deck empties you’ll see No more profiles with Refresh and View Your Matches.

When you match

If you both liked each other, a Partner found! celebration appears — You and … liked each other! — with See full profile and Keep Swiping.

Your matches live in the matches sheet, split into Mutual Likes and Playing Requests. From a match you can Send a message or Register as a Team, which opens a tournament picker where you tap Invite to play.

Splitting the entry fee

Splitting the cost is the payment flow Partner Up is built around. You’ve just teamed up with someone you met in the app, so neither of you is fronting the other’s money: each player registers themselves and pays their own half.

When you sign up for the tournament, the app asks How do you want to sign up? — choose I have a partner but we want to split costs. (If you’re still looking, I don’t have a partner drops you into the matcher for that specific tournament.)

1. You fill in your own details and pay your share. You then land on a waiting screen: Waiting for someone to accept your invite. Use Share Link or Copy to send the invite to your partner.
2. Your partner opens the link and sees Let’s team up! with the tournament, the countdown and Your share. They tap Continue registration.
3. They fill in only their own information and tap Submit & Pay.
4. Once both halves are paid you’ll both see Team Registered!

Until both halves are paid, the team registration shows a countdown and each player's progress.

Caution

Splits are time-limited. Your partner has a limited window from your payment to complete and pay their half — if they don’t, the team is cancelled and your payment is refunded automatically (refunds typically take 5–10 business days).

Paying for the whole team is a different route

The sign-up screen also offers I have a partner and want to sign up the team, where you fill in the form for both players and pay the full entry yourself. That option belongs to the normal tournament sign-up: it skips Partner Up entirely — no invite, no agreeing to play together, no partner registration. Use it when you already have a fixed partner and you’re happy to cover the entry. It is not part of the Partner Up flow.

Staying safe

Tap Report Profile on any player to flag an inappropriate photo, harassment, non-volleyball topics, a fake profile or a suspected underage user. From your matches you can also Unlike or Block & Unlike someone.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see the Partner tab

It only appears for users in European countries.

”Playing Partner is only available for users 16 and older”

You’re on a child account linked to a family. Playing Partner is switched off for linked children whatever their age — see family accounts. Once the account is unlinked from the family, the restriction is lifted.

”Your profile is hidden”

Your Playing Partner visibility is switched off, so other players can’t see you. Turn it back on from your privacy settings.
