Follow live results
For spectators and parents. This page explains how to follow a tournament live through a Spectator link — organizers create the link and share it.
What you’ll achieve: live scores, standings and brackets on your phone, plus optional notifications when your team’s — or your child’s — results come in.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The organizer turns on a Spectator link for the tournament and shares it as a link or a QR code. Its address has the form https://link.volleyworldapp.com/spectate/<code>. Opening it takes you into the Volley World app:
- Don’t have the app yet? You’re guided through installing it and a short, tournament-branded sign-up. It’s a lightweight audience account — no skill questionnaire — and you can upgrade it to a full player account later from your profile.
- Already have an account? You just log in, or are taken straight to the tournament.
What you can follow
Section titled “What you can follow”Once you’re in, the tournament opens on three tabs:
- Matches — every match with its live score, updating as points are entered.
- Results — standings and brackets, updating in real time.
- Map — where each court is.
You can filter by team, and follow a team to get push notifications about its results while the tournament is on. When the tournament closes, the link shows the final standings.
For parents
Section titled “For parents”If your family accounts are linked, you also get an automatic push notification with each match result of your children — no need to follow their team by hand. You can turn these off per child in the player app under Settings → Notifications → Family.
Who can open the link
Section titled “Who can open the link”The organizer chooses who a Spectator link is for:
- Parents of participants — requires linked family accounts.
- Parents and club members.
- Everybody with the link.
If you’re outside that audience, opening the link shows a friendly notice explaining who the link is for.
For organizers: turn on the Spectator link
Section titled “For organizers: turn on the Spectator link”- In the mobile app, open Admin Tool → Tournament Settings (or set it while creating the tournament in the upload form) and turn on Spectator link. In the Competition Manager web dashboard it’s on the tournament header, in the Spectator link card.
- Choose who can follow — Parents of participants, Parents and club members, or Everybody with the link.
- Copy or share the link, or show the QR code for people to scan.
- To stop sharing, turn the link off or rotate it — the old link stops working immediately.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The page is read-only — spectators can never edit scores. Entering results stays with players and referees, per the tournament’s result permission.
- Shared in a chat, the link shows a rich preview with the tournament’s name, date, club and banner.
