Rulebooks
What you’ll achieve: a saved rulebook that captures exactly how your tournament is scored and run — reusable across future events.
Where rulebooks live
Section titled “Where rulebooks live”Two different screens, and it’s worth keeping them straight:
- You build and edit rulebooks in the Rulebook Manager — the Rulebooks tab of Competition Manager. That’s the only place a rulebook is created or changed.
- You attach a rulebook to a tournament when you upload the event — in the Club Manager event form, under Competition Rulebook. You can also change it later by editing the event there.
So a rulebook isn’t tied to a tournament until an event picks it up. Build it once in the Rulebook Manager, then select it on every event that should follow those rules.
The Rulebook Manager compares every standard side by side — tiebreaking, scheduling, match format — so you can see exactly how RFEVB PRO differs from RFEVB Amateur before you commit. Create Custom Rulebook opens the wizard below.
The seven steps
Section titled “The seven steps”The wizard walks through seven steps; use Next to advance and the step bar to go back.
- Base — name the rulebook and pick a starting preset (e.g. RFEVB Amateur, FIVB PRO, CEV Amateur). This is required before you can continue.
- Tiebreak — order the tiebreak criteria (wins, set ratio, head-to-head, seeding…) by dragging them.
- Schedule — set the enforcement level (Strict / Warning / Off) and rest-time and matches-per-day rules.
- Format — choose the default match format (1 Set / Best of 3 / Best of 5) and points per set.
- Knockout — configure the bronze (3rd-place) match, the double-elimination model, and the final format.
- Ranking — pick the ranking points table and multiplier system.
- Summary — review; changes from the base preset are highlighted. Click Save Rulebook.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Next is disabled on the first step
Base requires both a rulebook name and a selected preset before you can continue. Fill both in.
