Group A is over. Three teams, two wins each… so who goes through? The answer is in the regulations. Somewhere around page one hundred and twelve.

Good news: in Volley World, the rules are already written. Every rulebook is built from the official regulations of the FIVB, the CEV, and the Spanish, German and Italian federations. Beach and indoor, each one PRO or Amateur.

In the Competition Manager, open Rulebooks: every federation, side by side. Hover over a rule, and there's the official article behind it. Only differences shows what really changes… and one switch takes you indoors.

Need your own? Create a custom rulebook: start from an official one, change what you need, and save.

Then, when you create a tournament or a league, pick its rulebook. One choice, and the whole competition plays by it.

Back to Group A. Spanish rules look at sets first: Ona and Bea win the group. European rules look at points: Sol and Eva. Same results, the right ranking, every time.

Move a match too close to a team's last one, and a PRO rulebook blocks it: thirty minutes of rest, as the regulation says.

Indoors, sets go to twenty-five, the fifth to fifteen, and the table counts match points: three, two, one, zero.

With a PRO rulebook, every match gets its acta digital: line-ups, every point, sanctions and signatures.

Amateur keeps it light: no strict schedule, just the final sets.

Where rulebooks live

Two different screens, and it’s worth keeping them straight:

• You build and edit rulebooks in the Rulebook Manager — the Rulebooks tab of Competition Manager. That’s the only place a rulebook is created or changed.
• You attach a rulebook to a tournament when you upload the event — in the Club Manager event form, under Competition Rulebook. You can also change it later by editing the event there.

So a rulebook isn’t tied to a tournament until an event picks it up. Build it once in the Rulebook Manager, then select it on every event that should follow those rules.

The Rulebook Manager compares every standard side by side — tiebreaking, scheduling, match format — so you can see exactly how RFEVB PRO differs from RFEVB Amateur before you commit. Create Custom Rulebook opens the wizard below.

The seven steps

The wizard walks through seven steps; use Next to advance and the step bar to go back.

1. Base — name the rulebook and pick a starting preset (e.g. RFEVB Amateur, FIVB PRO, CEV Amateur). This is required before you can continue.
2. Tiebreak — order the tiebreak criteria (wins, set ratio, head-to-head, seeding…) by dragging them.
3. Schedule — set the enforcement level (Strict / Warning / Off) and rest-time and matches-per-day rules.
4. Format — choose the default match format (1 Set / Best of 3 / Best of 5) and points per set.
5. Knockout — configure the bronze (3rd-place) match, the double-elimination model, and the final format.
6. Ranking — pick the ranking points table and multiplier system.
7. Summary — review; changes from the base preset are highlighted. Click Save Rulebook.

Tip

Build a rulebook once and reuse it. Editing a saved rulebook later doesn’t change tournaments that already used it — a tournament keeps the rules it was given when the event was uploaded.
