Close inscriptions & confirm seeds
What you’ll achieve: a final, locked field — no new sign-ups, correct seeds, and only the teams that will actually play left in the running.
Prerequisites: registration is effectively finished. Do this before generating groups.
1. Close inscriptions
Section titled “1. Close inscriptions”- In the top bar — right next to the tournament name — turn the Registrations toggle off.
- Confirm the Close inscriptions? dialog — “Players (including those on the waitlist) will no longer be able to sign up. Existing registrations are not affected.”
You can re-open registrations at any time; existing teams are never affected.
2. Confirm the seeds (entry points)
Section titled “2. Confirm the seeds (entry points)”Entry points exist to create the entry ranking — the deciding factor in how teams are distributed into the groups. The entry ranking is determined entirely by the entry points: high entry points mean a good entry ranking (the team with the most points is ranked #1). So if you want to change a tournament’s entry ranking, you simply modify the entry points.
Where the points come from:
- Default — Volley World level. Volley World App uses each team’s level (the average of the players in the team) to compute default entry points, giving you a sensible entry ranking with zero work.
- Manual — your own or an external ranking. Every value is editable, so you can override individual teams or replace the defaults entirely with a fully custom or external ranking.
- Automatic — a custom league. If you connect a custom league to the tournament event, the league produces your own automatic entry ranking instead.
To adjust the seeds:
- On the Teams table, edit the ENTRY POINTS cell for any team whose seed you want to change.
- A Save seeds button appears in the header — tap it. You’ll see a Seeds saved confirmation.
3. Remove non-playing teams
Section titled “3. Remove non-playing teams”Any team that won’t play must be out of the field before you draw groups — otherwise it gets placed. Use the per-team status control:
- Disqualified — keeps the team on record but out of play.
- Deleted — removes the team and releases its players. You’ll confirm “Are you sure you want to mark this team as Deleted?”. Deleting is final.
