What decides the distribution

Teams are spread across the groups by their entry ranking points — the higher a team’s points, the stronger its seed. There’s no random draw. Those points come from one of two places:

• From a league. If the tournament is linked to a ranking, each player’s points are already saved in the app, and the team’s entry points are taken from them automatically.
• Entered by hand. Otherwise you set each team’s entry points yourself on the Teams screen, before you create the groups. Do this first — the distribution can only be as fair as the points it’s based on.

Steps

1. Open the Groups screen and check the Total Teams count.
2. Choose a format: Round Robin (a single group) or Divide in groups.
3. For divided groups, enter How many groups? — a live preview shows the split (for example 4 grupos de 10 equipos).
4. Click Generate Groups.

Choosing how seeds are distributed

For more than one group, a How should teams be grouped? dialog asks how the seeds should be spread. Each option is previewed as a grid so you can see how balanced the result will be:

• Serpentine (recommended) — the snake order used by FIVB/RFEVB. Each row of seeds runs left→right, then right→left, so every group ends up with a comparable mix of strong and weak teams. Balanced groups.
• Linear — seeds rotate through the groups and start over each row, with no snake reversal. Roughly balanced.
• Best & worst together — top seeds fill Group 1, the next block fills Group 2, and so on. Strong groups play strong, weak play weak. Not balanced.

Pick a card and confirm.

Serpentine keeps every group at roughly equal strength — the standard choice for fair group play.

Note

If some teams share the same entry points, a Seed Configuration dialog opens first — that’s fine, duplicate rankings are permitted. Drag the highlighted tied teams to set their relative priority (the team placed higher gets priority in group placement), or use Auto-Assign Unique Seeds, then Save & Continue. Troubleshooting

”Duplicate Seed Values”

This warning means no team has entry points yet (all values are 0), so the draw would be arbitrary. Set the entry points on the Teams screen, or use Auto-Assign Unique Seeds, then continue. Teams sharing points is a different, harmless case — you just set their relative order by drag & drop in the Seed Configuration dialog.

The groups look lopsided

Check the teams’ entry points on the Teams screen — if several teams have no points, the distribution can’t balance them. Set their points, then regenerate the groups.
