Seasons & teams
What you’ll achieve: your season is set, every team has its category, gender and roster, and every player’s category is worked out from their birth year.
Prerequisites: your club is created with Indoor Volleyball among its sports, and your coaches are on your staff.
The season
Section titled “The season”Every club has exactly one active season at a time. The first one is created for you automatically — 1 September to 30 June, labelled with both years (for example 2026/27) — so you can start building teams straight away.
A season carries:
- Label and dates — what your members see, and the window your trainings, matches and fees fall into.
- Federation — the federation whose age categories you play by (for example RFEVB, FCVB, DVV, FIPAV, FFvolley or FIVB). It decides which categories your teams can have and how a birth year maps onto them.
- Status — Planning (next season, being prepared), Active (the current one) or Archived (past seasons, kept for reference).
Teams, season fees and licences all belong to a season. When a new season starts, last season’s teams, attendance and payments stay where they were — readable, but out of the way.
- Open your club Settings and choose Season.
- Check the label and the start and end dates; change them if your season runs differently.
- Pick your federation. The category list for your teams follows from it.
- Save. The season switcher at the top of the team screens shows which season you are looking at.
Age categories
Section titled “Age categories”Categories are worked out from a player’s birth year and the start year of the season, using the age table of your season’s federation. A few examples:
| Federation | Categories |
|---|---|
| RFEVB (Spain) | Benjamín, Alevín, Infantil, Cadete, Juvenil, Júnior, Senior |
| FCVB (Catalonia) | as RFEVB, plus Preinfantil |
| DVV (Germany) | U12, U13, U14, U16, U18, U20 |
| FIPAV (Italy) | U13, U14, U16, U18, U20 |
| FFvolley (France) | M11, M13, M15, M18, M21 |
| FIVB (international) | U17, U19, U21, U23 |
The category shows on every member’s file and in every team roster, so you can see at a glance who is eligible for which team — and who plays up a category.
Create a team
Section titled “Create a team”A team is a member group of the type Team. Everything a group already does — coaches, forum, documents, waitlist, group charges — keeps working, and the team adds what an indoor squad needs.
- Open Members → Groups and click + Add Group.
- Set the type to Team.
- Fill in the name (for example Cadete Femenino A), the category, the gender (female, male or mixed) and the season.
- Optionally add the team’s kit colours, its federation team code and its home venue — the hall where it plays home matches.
- Pick the coaches under Select Coaches.
- Save. The team now has a Roster tab.
Build the roster
Section titled “Build the roster”The roster is the team’s official squad for the season. It is what call-ups, the league roster and the scoresheet are filled from, so it is worth keeping it tidy.
- Open the team and go to Roster.
- Add players one by one, or click Add from group members to take everyone already in the group in one go.
- For each player set the shirt number and position — Setter (S), Outside hitter (OH), Opposite (OPP), Middle blocker (MB), Libero (L) or Universal (U).
- Mark the captain and the libero(s).
- Add the staff: coach, assistant coach, delegate, physio or doctor.
- Fill in the licence number once the player’s licence is issued — or let it come in from Licences & compliance.
When the roster is final — for example after the federation deadline — you can lock it, so nobody changes it by accident.
What players and parents see
Section titled “What players and parents see”In the Volley World app, the team appears under Your Groups with its category, its trainings and its upcoming matches. Each player sees their own shirt number and position; parents see the same for each of their children.
