Entries by form, payments by bank transfer, brackets on a whiteboard and results on WhatsApp. Wouldn't it be better to have it all connected?
Volley World is one solution, built from the ground up for volleyball. Its competitions follow the FIVB rules and the national rulebooks, like the Spanish federation's. And getting started is easy: tell us how your tournaments work. Pairs or teams, the categories, the fee per team, the dates and the courts. The robot prepares your club and opens the Competition Manager for you. Entries arrive on their own, with payment per team. Groups and draws are made in one click. The schedule lands on the courts. Scores update live on every phone, and on PRO tournaments the referee signs the digital scoresheet. Express tournaments, cups or a summer league: you decide. Entries, payments, results and your website: all in one place. You check it and publish. Creating your club is completely free, so you can try out the app and customise it with no commitment. And you're not on your own. Personal contact matters most to us: you get direct support from an expert whenever you need it. As soon as your club is set up, our onboarding team gets in touch to tailor the app to exactly your tournaments. However your tournaments work, Volley World adapts to it.
This video was recorded for clubs and organizers; for a federation the tournament is created in the Federation app and run in the Competition Manager in exactly the same way.
Your federation’s competition space
Section titled “Your federation’s competition space”The first time you add a competition or open the Competition Manager, Volley World sets up your federation’s own competition space — with your federation’s name and logo. Your tournaments, leagues and referee pool live there, separate from every club’s. Everyone on your federation’s staff can organize in it.
Inside the Competition Manager a federation’s tournament works exactly like a club’s. The tournament guides apply one to one — this page covers only what is different for a federation.
1. Create the tournament in the Federation app
Section titled “1. Create the tournament in the Federation app”- In Schedule, click Add and choose Competitions.
- Fill in the editor — see Federation calendar. Under Competition settings, pick the Rulebook (Tiebreak order, set points and rest times): a standard preset, or one of your federation’s own rulebooks.
- Click Publish. The tournament appears on your calendar under Tournaments.
A club’s organizer creates the same event in the Club Manager (Create a tournament); for you, the Federation app takes its place. Rulebooks are built in the Rulebook Manager of the Competition Manager.
2. Run it in the Competition Manager
Section titled “2. Run it in the Competition Manager”Open the tournament from its event page (Enter on the Competition Manager card) or from Tournaments in the sidebar. From there, follow the tournament stages:
- Plan your format and publish the sign-up link
- Stage 2 · Tournament Preparations — registrations, form answers, referees
- Stage 3 · Close Inscriptions — groups, courts, publish the phase
- Stage 4 · On-site Management — live scoring, brackets, court map
- Stage 5 · Close Tournament — rankings and closing
Your federation’s referee pool is the same for your tournaments and your leagues.
3. The digital scoresheet (acta digital)
Section titled “3. The digital scoresheet (acta digital)”In the tournament’s sidebar, Actas has a card Acta digital with a PRO badge. It is available only when the tournament plays under a PRO rulebook — with an amateur rulebook, results are saved without an acta.
| Switch | What happens |
|---|---|
| On (the default) | Every match of this tournament is recorded on its acta: signatures, rally log and close on the device. |
| Off | Results are saved directly, without an acta. Actas that already exist are kept. You can still print the blank match sheet to use on paper. |
Closed actas are sealed by the server and appear in your Actas archive in the Federation app. How signatures, sanctions and sealing work: Sanctions, sealing & offline scoring.
4. Change, copy or call it off
Section titled “4. Change, copy or call it off”From the event page in the Federation app you can Edit the tournament, Copy it as a new one (for example the next date of a series), or Cancel it — suspend it with the participants notified, or delete it. See Federation calendar.
Troubleshooting
- “Setting up your federation space”. The competition space is being created. Reload after a moment; if it stays, write to hola@volleyworldapp.com.
- The Acta digital card says it needs a PRO rulebook. The tournament uses an amateur rulebook. Pick a PRO rulebook with Edit → Competition settings if you want a digital acta.
- Teams cannot pay online. Your federation’s Stripe account is not connected yet — see Federation settings.
