Referees & digital scoresheet
What you’ll achieve: referees ready for every match, the playing day running, and each result arriving in the standings through a signed, closed scoresheet.
Prerequisites: a published playing day with referees assigned (Inside a match day).
1. Your referee pool
Section titled “1. Your referee pool”The league’s officials live under Officials in the rail. This list is for PROFESSIONAL and LICENCED referees. An invited referee gets an e-mail, creates their own Volley World account from it and joins your pool; every match they work in a closed tournament or league counts on their own profile.
- Click Officials, then Invite a referee. Fill in First name, Last name, Email and, optionally, a Licence.
- Tick Also ask them to referee this league to call them up at the same time.
- Click Send the invitation.
For a referee already in the pool, the row menu offers Call up for this league (asks by email) or Add to this league without asking. The row then says Asked — waiting, On the list or Declined. Your federation keeps one pool for all its competitions — see Invite referees for the pool in detail.
2. Start the playing day
Section titled “2. Start the playing day”On match day, open the jornada and click Start playing day. It moves to In play: referees can open their scoresheets now. Before you start it, referees can score once you start the playing day (“In play”).
3. The digital scoresheet
Section titled “3. The digital scoresheet”01Your referee interface
Score the match from your own phone
Every match you referee opens in a big, glove-proof scoreboard: tap the side that won the rally. The app keeps the service order, shows who serves with their photo, tells you when to change sides and sends every point to the live results the moment you tap it.
For official matches the same scoreboard becomes a full electronic score sheet: the captains read and sign the acta on your device before the first serve, time-outs are recorded, and after the last point the officials sign in order and the sealed PDF is ready to share.
Results go through the digital scoresheet. The referee opens the same scoresheet on their phone or tablet in the Volley World app, inside this league’s playing day: captains sign before the match, the score is kept point by point and the result reaches the standings when it is closed. From here you can follow its state, open it and download it. Entering a score by hand is for corrections only.
On each match of the playing day you have:
- Digital scoresheet — follow its state and open it.
- Download scoresheet — the latest version of the signed scoresheet (PDF).
- Point counter — score the match rally by rally from the Competition Manager; every point goes onto the acta.
- Enter by hand — for corrections. Recommended: record this match on the digital scoresheet.
4. Finish the playing day
Section titled “4. Finish the playing day”When every match is over, click Finish playing day: results lock and only the organizer can correct them. If played scoresheets are not closed yet, you are warned first (Actas not closed) — close them, or Finish anyway.
Next: standings & play-offs.
Troubleshooting
- The referee can’t open the scoresheet. The playing day isn’t In play yet — click Start playing day.
- A referee doesn’t see the league day in the app. They are not on the day yet. Check Referees of this playing day: invite them, or add them directly.
- A result is wrong. As the organizer you can always correct it from the match (Enter by hand), also after the day is finished.
- The playing day is over but was never started. Referees could not enter results. Start it to collect them, then finish it.
